Generally, there is only enough time during a consultation to provide a thorough examination and discussion for one skin concern or condition at a time. This allows our specialists to properly assess your concern and discuss an appropriate treatment plan.
In some cases, more than one concern may be able to be reviewed, however this will depend on the nature and complexity of each condition. Additional appointments may be required if there are multiple concerns to be assessed.
Most GP referrals are valid for 12 months from the date of your first specialist appointment. Specialist referrals are generally valid for 3 months.
We also accept indefinite referrals for most dermatology conditions. Please note that with an indefinite referral, you will generally only be eligible for the Medicare rebate applicable to a review consultation, under item 105.
If you are unsure which referral is suitable for you, please speak with your referring doctor.
