Hyaluronic acid injections | for bio-remodelling
The treatment:
This unique treatment is a stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product that treats skin laxity through the process of bio-remodelling. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market, it boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. It’s typically used on the face and neck, but can be used on lax skin anywhere on the body.
Bio-remodelling is not a type of dermal filler – it targets skin laxity and crepiness by improving the texture, firmness and hydration of the skin, but it does not add any volume or offer reshaping.
Bio-remodelling delivers great results as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other aesthetics treatments, such as dermal filler, anti-wrinkle injections or skin resurfacing laser.
The procedure:
Bio-remodelling is injected into blebs that then spread underneath the skin, stimulating tissue rejuvenation from beneath. The face and neck each have 10 standard points where the product is injected.
The typical treatment protocol involves an initial 2 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. It is recommended that treatment is repeated approximately 6 monthly thereafter, at the discretion of the patient. This will be discussed in more detail during your consultation.
Over time, patients will notice an improved change in the feeling of their skin. Most people feel the difference in their skin before they see it, but over time, the improvement in skin quality can be quite remarkable. This treatment is for patients who want to improve skin laxity and overall quality, but don’t need or want volume or reshaping.
Potential risks, side effects & expected downtime:
You may experience mild stinging or burning when injected, like what is felt with anti-wrinkle injections, if you’ve had this treatment before.
You will experience small, localised bumps where the product is injected, this is the product beneath the skin. It is no cause of concern and a normal part of the procedure. The bumps will disappear within a few hours.
Bruising is always a risk with injection-based procedures, so we encourage patients to plan sensibly around any social events.
Although only recently approved for use in Australia, bio-remodelling has been used overseas since 2015. No serious risks or adverse reactions have been reported with this product.
