CoolPeel Laser Treatment

What is CoolPeel?

Using advanced DEKA CO2 technology, CoolPeel precisely targets the superficial layer of skin, helping to stimulate collagen and encourage cell turnover.

The treatment may help reduce visible signs of ageing, sun damage, and mild acne scarring, all with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

An in-depth consultation

At Complete Skin Specialists, your treatment begins with a personalised consultation about your skin. At your first appointment, we’ll review your medical history, discuss your goals and recommend any treatments we believe may help you. That may include CoolPeel.

Belinda Fraser, a dermal therapist and clinical leader of our cosmetic team, leads our CoolPeel service. If you’re interested in CoolPeel, please book an appointment with Belinda.

What can CoolPeel be used for?

CoolPeel may be suitable for addressing several common dermatological conditions and cosmetic concerns like

DERMATOLOGY
  • Laser treatment for acne scars
  • Laser treatment for sun damage, e.g. actinic keratoses and pigmentation
  • Reducing enlarged pores
COSMETIC
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improved skin texture and radiance
  • Smoother, more even tone

Advantages of CoolPeel laser treatment

CoolPeel uses the DEKA CO2 laser to deliver fractional skin resurfacing without excessive heat.

This approach helps deliver the benefits of deeper treatments with less redness and downtime. It bridges the gap between a high-downtime CO2 resurfacing laser and low-downtime, superficial treatments, which may not be effective for moderate to severe skin concerns.

A key advantage of CoolPeel is its adjustable intensity:

  • Light CoolPeel (settings 1–2): Offers a subtle refresh with minimal downtime.
  • Advanced CoolPeel (settings 3–5): Targets more established concerns, such as wrinkles or mild acne scarring, with greater intensity.

Treatment settings are customised according to your skin type, concerns and recovery preferences.

CoolPeel aftercare

Recovery time will vary depending on the treatment strength:

  • Light CoolPeel: Expect 1–2 days of redness, similar to mild sunburn.
  • Advanced CoolPeel: Expect 3–5 days of redness, with possible peeling.

Post-treatment care typically includes:

  • Gentle skincare and moisturising
  • Avoiding active ingredients or exfoliants
  • Applying SPF daily and avoiding direct sun
  • Refraining from heat-based activities (e.g., saunas, exercise) for 24–48 hours

You’ll be given tailored aftercare instructions at your appointment.
