Redness & Flushing
Redness and flushing of the face, neck and chest is very common in women and men.
Common causes include:
- Sun damage
- Keratosis pilaris – this occurs in younger people and if often associated with rough skin on the sides of the cheeks and upper arms
Many people can see tiny red blood vessels which become visible over time – these are called capillaries and when large and dilated are often called “broken capillaries” or “cuperose”. The medical term is telangiectasia. They are most common on the cheeks and around the nose.
Whatever the cause redness and flushing can generally be very successfully treated.
